Moscow is among the finalists of The Internet of Cities Forum’s (ICF) Awards

In June 2017 the winner of The Top7 Intelligent Communities of the Year Award of ICF will be determined.

For the first time in fourteen years, Russian city has entered the The Top7 Intelligent Communities, alongside with two cities from countries Taiwan, Canada and Australia. As noted by organisators, Moscow is a first Russian city to truly deserve such a high rating.

Tenchoparks and tecnhopolises, that were created in Moscow, education system which includes multiple steps-schools, colleges and universities, scientific centers, electronic referendum and voting system were all noticed by specialists. Besides, Moscow is currently on the second place worldwide on the amount of the Wi-Fi access points. All of that is very important, beacause the winners were determined by several factors, such as: Internet acess, policies to help startups, higher education accessibility and interactivity within the city portals and so on. Several other factors were also taken into account, such as geographic positioning and popoluation density, which gave an opportunity to compare various cities of various countries.

Intelligent Communities Award has been awarded since 2002. Winners of previous years: Stockholm (Sweden), Seoul (South Korea), Eindhoven (Netherlands), Singapore, Glasgow (United Kingdom), Toronto (Canada), New York (USA).
