In this journey, you will pass along the most beautiful road of Russia called "Chuya Highway" (which is included to the Top-10 of the most beautiful highways in the world according to the National Geographic).
You will also explore the pearl of the Altai — Lake Teletskoye (one of the deepest lakes in the world, a UNESCO site), bays and waterfalls of extraordinary beauty and mountains covered with forest.
ITINERARY:
Day 1
Meeting your guide at Novosibirsk airport. Transfer to the hotel. Check in and rest. City tour in the afternoon visit

- Welcome to Novosibirsk. Novosibirsk is the third largest city in Russia by population, the most rapidly growing million-plus city in the world, and is inhabited by representatives of over twenty nationalities. Orthodox churches and cathedrals neighbour mosques, a Catholic cathedral, a synagogue, a Buddhist cathedral, and other religious establishments.
- Transfer to the hotel and rest
- After the lunch you will have a wonderful city tour by car around Novosibirsk. During this city tour you will see the historical part of Novosibirsk and its main landmarks. There will be a stop made on the Lenin Square near the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, one of the most beautiful and famous buildings of the city. Then you will have a possibility to visit one of the Novosibirsk’s museums of your choice (Museum of Siberian Beresta, Local Lore and History museum or Novosibirsk Art Gallery).
- Transfer back to the hotel

Day 2
Katun river. Over night at the guest house
- Breakfast.
- Your guide will meet you at the lobby of the hotel.
- This day is devoted to the Katun River- a powerful place of energy. You will have a light rafting with the certified instructor.
- Lunch.
- During the day, we will visit a very unusual place, where Altais prayed to their Gods, asked for healing and help. It is permeated with the strongest energy of the mountains.
- During the tour, you will visit the “health stream”, a cascading waterfall and climb the mountain, from where you can enjoy a stunning view of the valley of the Katun River.
- Transfer to the gueshouse.
- Dinner.
Day 3
Horse ride or quad bike ride. Artisans Village Askat
- Breakfast.
- After breakfast, you will enjoy a horse ride into the mountains, from where opens up a stunning view of hundreds of kilometers of mountain ranges. An alternative to this excursion is a quad bike ride.
- Today we will visit a beautiful place called “dragon egg”. The gorge here is very narrow, so the light falls in a special way. It gives a feeling of being in a fairy tale.
- At the end of the day, you will visit the famous artisans village Askat, which is known for its inhabitants — artisans and artists. There you can get acquainted with their art works, undergo sound therapy with Tibetan bowls, and even learn how to play ethnic instruments.
- You will have a big bonfire and delicious dinner cooked on the fire in the village Askat this evening.
- Overnight at the village.
Day 4
Sights of "Chuya Highway"
- Breakfast.
- Today you will set off again along the Grand Altai. You will visit numerous sights of the Chuya Highway — one of the most beautiful roads of the world according to the National Geographic, which you will cross entirely in the next 2 days.
- You will cross the Seminsky Mountain Pass (1717 m), offering stunning views. Here you could find an ancient abandoned path, which numerous merchants used to go to Mongolia and China.
- Lunch.
- Today you will get acquainted with one of the main places of power of Altai, which is located at the confluence of the Chuya and Katun rivers, and you can take a lot of amazing photos over there.
- Transfer to the hotel.
- Dinner.
Day 5
Geyser Lake. Snowy peaks of the North-Chuya Range. Altai Mars. Village of Kosh-Agach
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Together with your guide you will visit a famous Geyser Lake. There are a lot of spring waters, forming unique patterns on the surface of the lake. You will have an opportunity to see one of the highest ranges of Altai. The tops of the mountains here are covered with non-melting snow.
- In order to walk around the red planet, you don't have to fly to Mars. And to get photos of alien landscapes, you don't need to send Rovers and spaceships. Who would have thought that absolutely cosmic landscapes can not only be seen, but also felt, run and make an epic selfie right in the Altai. We continue the path to the surreal object "Altai Mars". Mars-like landscapes of this place have long attracted tourists, and especially photographers, geologists from all around the world.
- This day we will visit the village Kosh-Agach. Free winds of Mongolia are already blowing here, quite a bit remains to the border. All landscapes here are very different from those that you saw earlier. You will walk through the Kazakh-Mongolian market, where you can purchase unique handmade products from camel, yak and leather
- Lunch in the village.
- Transfer back to the hotel.
Day 6
Valley of thousand lakes. Pazyryk kurgans
- Breakfast.
- Today the route lies along a narrow gorge between the rocks towards the Altai border with Tyva and Khakassia, other regions of Russia. On the way you will have several interesting excursions.
- You will see the mysterious Pazyryk kurgans — the valley of the burial of warriors and shamans of this land. According to ancient legends, only the chosen ones could come here.
- You will also visit the observation platform of Kathu-Yaryk. Standing here, on the edge of a precipice, almost one kilometer deep, when the emerald river bends below, and waterfalls flow down from the rocks, you experience an unforgettable feeling.
- After excursion, the group is walking down to the camp site (all the luggage will be transported by car; those who wish can also go by car). This night you will spend in ail — national Altai dwellings.
Day 7
Trekking to Uchar
- Breakfast.
- Today you will go to the largest cascade waterfall in Altai — Uchar (160 m). The road to the waterfall is majestic and beautiful. You will have a mountain trekking with a length of 9 km (one way) along a mountain path. The trekking takes all day, the guide will pick you up at 8 AM, we come back around 6 PM (comfortable shoes are needed). Lunch will be organized during trekking at the mountains.
- In coordination with the guide, this excursion can be replaced by a simpler, but no less beautiful program — a walk to the nearest waterfall.
- Also, you can stay on this day at the hostel and have a rest day for yourself.
- Dinner at the hotel.
Day 8
Stone Mushrooms. Cruise on Teletskoye Lake
- Breakfast.
- In the morning you will see one of the wonders of the Altai nature called “stone mushrooms”. These formations are a result of weathering of rocks. Also, you will see the fascinating landscapes of the valley of the river Chulyshman.
- Today the group comes to the southern coast of one of the deepest lakes in the world — Teletskoye Lake (UNESCO World Heritage Site). We will have a day cruise It is an unforgettable journey on the water: you will cross the lake along its longest part (78 km) from south to north.
- On the way, you visit the famous waterfalls, see the reserved villages, the most beautiful cape and the place of the fall of the meteorite.
Day 9
Teletskoye Lake. Ethnographic tour. Tasting of dishes of national cuisine
- Breakfast.
- Today you will have a rest day on the shore of one of the cleanest and deepest lakes in the world. If you wish, you can independently go to the observation deck to enjoy a stunning view of Teletskoye Lake or have a quiet time on the shore of the lake.
- Lunch.
- This afternoon you will have an ethnographic excursion and acquaintance with the local traditions, as well as tasting of dishes of national cuisine.
- Dinner at the hotel.
Day 10
Teletskoye Lake. National Museum, "Altai Princess" mummy. Return transfer

- In the morning you will have the opportunity to stroll once more along the shore of the lake and go to the souvenir markets.

- We collect our luggage and go back to Gorno-Altaisk city.
- On the way, we will make a stop near the National museum. This museum is famous all over the world, as the mummy of the “Altai Princess”, the world's archaeological sensation of the last century is kept there.
- Transfer to Barnaul.
